Kalayaan Run 2026: Celebrating 128 Years of Freedom is a free virtual running event hosted on HelloRun in celebration of Philippine Independence Day.

10K Kalayaan Run

The 10K category is best for participants who want a stronger but still manageable challenge.

You can complete this through short runs or walks across the 7-day event window.

Best For: Active beginners and recreational runners

21K Kalayaan Run

The 21K category is best for regular runners or participants who want to challenge themselves with a half-marathon distance.

You may complete the distance through multiple valid activities within the event period.

How This Event Works

1. Register for Free

Choose your preferred category:

Make sure your HelloRun profile details are correct before joining.

2. Complete Your Distance

Complete your selected distance anytime from June 12 to June 18, 2026.

You may complete your distance through:

  • one activity
  • multiple activities
  • daily short runs
  • walking sessions
  • treadmill sessions
  • outdoor runs

Your total approved distance must reach your registered category distance.

3. Submit Your Proof

Submit your activity proof through HelloRun.

Your proof should clearly show:

  • distance completed
  • date of activity
  • activity duration or time
  • activity type
  • screenshot or record source

Accepted proof may include:

  • Strava screenshot
  • Garmin screenshot
  • Nike Run Club screenshot
  • other GPS running app screenshots
  • treadmill photo showing distance
  • manual entry with supporting image

4. Wait for Verification

Submitted activities will be reviewed by the organiser.

Only approved activities will count toward your official progress.

Make sure your proof is clear and valid to avoid delays or rejection.

5. Earn Your Recognition

Once you complete your selected category and your submissions are approved, you will be recognised as an official finisher.

Finishers may receive:

  • digital finisher badge
  • digital certificate
  • leaderboard recognition
  • completion record in their HelloRun profile

Completion Rules

This is an accumulated distance event.

That means you do not need to finish your distance in one run.

Example:

For the 10K category, you may complete:

  • Day 1: 2 km
  • Day 2: 3 km
  • Day 4: 2 km
  • Day 6: 3 km

Total: 10 km

Once your approved total reaches your registered category distance, you qualify as a finisher.

Finisher Qualification

To qualify as an official finisher, you must:

  • register under one category
  • complete the full required distance within the event window
  • submit valid proof through HelloRun
  • make sure activities are dated within June 12 to June 18, 2026
  • submit all proof on or before June 20, 2026
  • pass organiser verification

Accepted Activities

The following activities are accepted:

  • running
  • jogging
  • walking
  • hiking
  • trail running
  • treadmill running or walking

Cycling, motorcycle rides, vehicle-based distance, or unrelated activities are not accepted.

Proof Submission Guidelines

Your proof must be clear and readable.

A valid proof should show:

  • participant activity distance
  • activity date
  • activity duration
  • source app or activity record
  • treadmill screen if done indoors

For treadmill activities, submit a photo showing the treadmill distance after your session.

For outdoor activities, GPS app screenshots are recommended.

Leaderboard Basis

The leaderboard may show participant progress based on approved submissions.

Leaderboard ranking may be based on:

  • completed category
  • total approved distance
  • approved activity records

The leaderboard is for recognition and motivation. This free virtual event is designed to encourage participation, consistency, and community movement.
